In this futuristic era, AI has been a pinnacle tool to be used in education to tackle the works. Students, teachers and even lecturers have started to use AI in school or universities to create, handle or even complete tasks. AI has become an everyday part of students, teachers and lecturers in their respective
education platforms.
As John Edwards – 2024 stated in his article the majority of institutions lack specialized guide-lines for the ethical deployment of AI tools such as ChatGPT may be the main pushing point on why schools and univerisites should create and implement rules and implementation. Nowadays, students, teachers and lecturers have been misusing AI to complete tasks without knowing they are commiting plagiarism. Schools should implement rules and regulations in which are tighter so that everyone is scared of commiting plagiarism. For example, implementing turnitin to check how much AI and plagiarism made.
In my opinion, I think implementing rules might actually save a lot of original authors and workers tasks as regulations have made plagiarism more hard.
As per Anitia lubbe said in The Conversation professors should make students interrogate AI generative tools’ output and asking them to identify where an AI-generated answer is inaccurate, biased, or shallow before they can use it in their own work. By doing this students don’t only complete their work they also learn. Students also learn how to use AI properly in their tasks with all the help their received from professors. Lastly, I think this way students learn way faster and understand because they have to complete the taks and also read everything they do rather than AI completing it for them.
Per Unesco – 2021 Foster broad corporate and civic responsibility for addressing the critical societal issues raised by AI technologies (such as fairness, transparency, accountability, human rights, democratic values, bias, and privacy). Ensure that people protect against automating tasks without
identifying and compensating for the values of current practices. Privacy is pivotal ground in this new era as everyone is scared of their work being plagiarised. The way to control this issue is to protect works against automating tasks. For example, completing tasks in pdf that can’t be copied by other people can be a first start to prevent from plagiarism. Lastly, people should start to that accountability to the things they do in their field of work.
As AI evolves, humans should evolve also so that they dont plagiarised and not let AI finish all our tasks. Humans who have plagiarised should be hold
accountable if caught plagiarising other people’s work. I personally recommend using AI but not using it to finish tasks but just to get ideas for the tasks that we are doing.
