Young adults, particularly those had just started high school are known to be very active as they are in the stage of exploring themselves, their surroundings and community. Unfortunately, some people began to form opinions on how reckless they could be and how easily accidents can happen due to them unused to growing hormones and do not have the knowledge or intuition on how to confront a dangerous situation. In my opinion, it is true for these worries as we should be well-equipped with basic survival knowledge even when safety is mostly guaranteed.
To start, young adults are still breaking away from the “playful” phase as children and thus are sometimes naïve to the dangers around them. For example, some of the youngsters would do reckless things like climbing trees, playground roofs and other unsafe spots. While I do not mean to shelter or prohibit them from doing such physical activities, they should at least be taught to asses and think first on the actions they’re going to do. Even the most innocent of falls could lead to disastrous consequences with how fragile the human body could be.
Another to add, they lack the basic survival skills that are important just in case any accidents or dangerous situations would come. On a blog by the American Red Cross Training Services (2024), some of the few skills adolescents can acquire are first aid which can be basic wound closure, CPR in cases of collapse either from drowning, fainting and so on, swimming lessons conducted by licenced coach and etc. Despite the assurances that the younglings are taken care of, I believe the phrase “It only takes a moment” is enough to remind us that anything can happen even when take off our sights for even a second longer. “Better safe than sorry”, if I may add.
An argument I have seen is how youngsters tend to perceive their gut-feeling in many situations as enough safety measures to not follow through. Unfortunately, that does not apply to every child in the world. While there have been cases of the little ones being more perceptive than adults, they can also be easily convinced by either friends for peer pressure or even strangers that try to lure them away. That is why the basic “stranger danger” concept should be apply more thoroughly. Not just to make sure they would not be in danger to these types of situations but also lets them deduce on how to respond to such confrontation.
In short, such skills are a must-learn even from a young age. Even with the beliefs that nothing should happen in certain situations, it must be reminded that anything can turn the tides in an instant. Especially since we are concerning the lives of our future generations, we could at least give them a bit more fighting chance should the circumstances arise. To restate my opinion, I agree that young adults nowadays are lacking basic survival skills and must be taught early on the prevent accidents that could lead to permanent damage to their lives and those around them.

Some paragraph transitions are unclear (e.g., “Another to add,” is ungrammatical).
Try clearer topic sentences and more deliberate connectors like “In addition,”, “Furthermore,”, or “However,” to improve flow.
