TOPIC 3: How to prevent deforestation in tropical rainforests

“Not only are we losing the animals that once lived on them, we’re also changing the climate of the entire globe.” – David Attenborough
Deforestation has become a major issue of the world due to callous and unmonitored logging. This has lead to irreversible effect on the world that if left unchecked, could bring more catastrophe.

Some of the causes of deforestation are climate change that alters rainfall patterns and increases drought frequency, commercial agriculture expansion that leads to massive forest clearing, and infrastructure development for urban expansion due to massive population.

One of the first causes of deforestation is due to climate change that alters rainfall patterns and increases drought frequency.
This can seen through weakening forests throughout Malaysia that may causes major threat.
Despite that, it can be prevented with strengthening forest protection laws to avoid excessive logging from happening.
With suitable action, climate change can be avoided and we can minimized deforestation.

Furthermore, Commercial agriculture expansion that leads to massive forest clearing is another reason that causes deforestation.
For example, the current unpredictable weather across southeast asia due to the unmonitored pollution.
Some of the ways to combat this is through the practice of regenerative farming that empahize healthy soil and biodiversity.
If we can empahized this practice more in the future, commercial agriculture expansion can be monitored and controlled without disrupting reserved forest areas.

Infrastructure development for urban expansion due to massive population is also another big factor of deforestation.
With the increasing population numbers, urban expansion in Malaysia manages to infiltrate into reserve forest areas.
One of the way to avoid this is through the use of green infrastructure method that uses more permeable pavements to reduce heat and integrate nature into construction.
With enough usage, this can minimize the damages infrastructure development can cause to nature.

In a nutshell, deforestation is becoming a major problems throughout the world and immediate actions need to be taken to prevent this issue from escalating.
Causes such as unpredictable change to the climate, rapid expansion of commercial, and increasing development of infrastructure if left unchecked, can lead to major catastrophe.
On the other hand, we can prevent this if suitable and radical actions such as inforcing forest protection laws be taken that minimize deforestation.

One Response

  1. The ideas are relevant and show a good understanding of the issue. However, the language and grammar require significant improvement for better clarity and flow. Issues such as subject-verb agreement (“This can seen”), awkward phrasing (“expansion of commercial”), and spelling errors (“empahize,” “inforcing”) disrupt readability. The use of examples and proposed solutions like regenerative farming and green infrastructure are appropriate but could be explained more clearly. The conclusion summarizes the main points well but needs better phrasing to sound more polished. Overall, the essay has strong content and organization, but language accuracy and expression should be improved to enhance the effectiveness of the argument. Overall Good Job!.
