TOPIC 4

“A penny saved is a penny earned,” said by Benjamin Franklin. For students pursuing higher education, saving pennies would feel impossible amid rising costs and relentless financial pressures. Today’s students face big money problems where college costs keep rising, rent and food prices keep going up. Tons of students spend money without thinking when they feel stressed. This essay discusses three major financial challenges students face: pressure to spend in expensive social circles, impulse spending from social media, and limited income from part-time jobs.

Firstly, hanging out with friends that costs lots of money can be problematic. Some students got roped into the wrong social circle whether because their friends have bad influences or come from wealthy families. This can lead to the students into having to force themselves to be on the same level as the others. For instance, the group of friends constantly like going clubbing or very expensive places, it can drain their finances. To save money, students should choose affordable hangouts or socialize with friends who don’t pressure them to overspend.

Thirdly, limited income sources are one of the problem student faced as they are pursuing higher education. Higher education might cost a lot for certain families to the point where student may have to keep a part time job as a side income to able to support themselves. This can lead to the student having stress or issue of failing in academics. Such as, a university student working 20 hours a week at a cafe to pay rent might struggle to complete assignments on time. Schools should offer better part-time job options or financial aid to help students focus on their studies instead of just making ends meet.

In conclusion, many students face three key money challenges which is: overspending with friends, buying unnecessary things social media pressure, and stress from part-time jobs while studying. It can lead to debt, stress, and poor grades if not managed well. To solve these problems, students should: choose low-cost hangouts with friends, avoid impulse buying by limiting social media, and look for jobs that are inside campus with flexible hours.

  1. You are able to identify key issues such as social pressure, impulse spending, and limited income, and offers practical solutions for each. However, there are some grammatical errors and awkward sentence constructions that affect clarity, such as “lead to the students into having to force themselves” and “one of the problem student faced.” Additionally, the second point is missing (the essay jumps from “firstly” to “thirdly”), which disrupts the logical flow. Despite these issues, the content is strong and the message is meaningful.
